Having had a great love for drawing and painting from early childhood, it is no wonder that Yvonne Tubell Shahoud has had such a versatile career in the art field. Her talents have taken her through many different phases as a professional artist.

Yvonne learned early in her career, that the more versatile you are in your skills, the greater your chances are for success. She has mastered not only fine art techniques, such as painting in the mediums of watercolor, oil, pastel, and acrylic, but also commercial art techniques, such as hand illustration in pencil, ink line drawing, ink wash, designer's gouache, watercolor, and acrylic. She is also experienced in the computer graphics programs, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Quark Express.

Prior to Starting her own business, Mural, Mural on the Wall, Inc. in 1996, Yvonne devoted 23 years of her career to the field of Commercial Illustration. She freelanced as a fashion illustrator for such department store chains as Burdine's, Jordan Marsh, J.C. Penney Co. and Jefferson Stores (a division of Montgomery Ward). While freelancing for these businesses, she also held a full time job for 17 years as Senior Illustrator for Levitz Furniture Corporation. Her hand rendered illustrations of furniture and rooms settings were printed nationwide in Levitz's newspaper ads.

Portrait painting was Yvonne's first love. Since childhood she devoted long hours of practice to this skill. She has the ability to achieve a remarkable likeness of her subjects, and seems to capture their personalities in her work as well. She has studied portrait painting under world-renowned portrait painter, Daniel Greene. Throughout her professional career, she has supplemented her income as a portrait painter.

Now, as owner of Mural Mural on the Wall, Inc. Yvonne has painted dozen of murals for private home owners, schools, restaurants and other places of business. Her past skills as an illustrator are brought to light as well in her murals, and due to this extensive background, the quality of her work speaks for itself. Realistic painting and trompe l'oeil effects fool the eye to the delight of the viewer.
